Argentine Tango

Argentine Tango is a social dance originating during the the early 1900's in the barrios of Buenos Aries (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay). The Argentine Tango has since developed active dance communities worldwide. The Tucson area has an year-round, active Argentine Tango community. In addition, Tucson hosts an annual Tucson Argentine Tango Festival with local, national, and international attendees.

Argentine Tango is a partnered and improvised dance based on variations of walking, turning, and pausing.

The Argentine Tango and American Tango are very different.
